Vacancy in the Office of City Council Member

Eureka City is accepting applications to fill a vacancy for an unexpired term of Eureka City Council Member.

The vacancy in the office of City Council will be filled by an interim
appointment. The interim appointment will be in effect until the January following the next Municipal Election held in 2019.

The appointment will take place at the regular Council Meeting to be
held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 7:00 p.m., Eureka Memorial
Building, 263 West Main Street, Eureka, Utah 84628.

A person may become a candidate for any municipal office if:
     - the person is a Registered Voter; and
     - the person has resided within the municipality in which that
       person seeks to hold elective office for the 12 consecutive
       months immediately before the date of the election.
     - In accordance with Utah Constitution Article IV, Section 6,
       any mentally incompetent person, any person convicted of a
       felony, or any person convicted of treason or a crime against
       the elective franchise may not hold office in this state until
       the right to hold elective office is restored under Section
       20A-2-101.3 or 20A-2-101.5.

Applications may be obtained at the City Office. Applications must be submitted to the City Recorder, prior to the deadline of Monday, March 5, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.
